If you purchased a computer that claimed to come with Office software only to find out it was a 3 month trial and you need to purchase it now spending at least a couple hundred dollars, there is a free alternative. Legally free; which is even better.
Go to http://www.openoffice.org/ and click on the link “I want to download OpenOffice.org”. Follow the prompts and it’s installed. Once it’s installed, you can edit the way it works so it automatically saves files as a Microsoft format. For example, Word, Excel or Powerpoint formats instead of OpenOffice.org’s default format.
